The perfect photo op, happened just about 5 minutes before the "crash".
As you see, the trail you go down is completely clear, very well marked for sledders. At points, we intersected the skiers. It was absolutely gorgeous. I had just traded sleds with Lauryn and at this point in the run, it was quite slow. We got off, took pictures and I was trying to get mine to pick up speed. Before I crashed, I was on my bottom sitting down. But, this is the last thing I remember. I do not remember going over. Mike says I was out for about 5 minutes. Mike and the kids have some pretty scary memories of the ordeal. I'm sure you can all imagine what they went through.
Brilee had watched me barrel roll down the side. Poor thing saw everything. Mike saw me go over and jumped off the sled and dashed down the hill. Brilee ran for help. Two very nice older men picked her up, hugged her and ran with her to where we were. They called for help. The older men stayed with the kids through the entire thing.
I was so completely blessed that I was stopped by the tree. The hill kept going down and down. My head had many little blood blisters, no real cuts on me at all. Nothing was broken, just bruised and sore. I remember very little about laying there. I do remember them putting snow on my head and the helicopter ride and just a few minutes before that. But, nothing directly after. I d0n't remember the emergency workers arriving or the helicopter arriving.
I was conscious enough to ask I was going to be dangling in the trees. Mike tried to calm me and hush me by saying "don't worry". WHAT?? I've seen those flying through the sky and sometimes crash but DON'T WORRY???
Mike pointing to where I ended up.
The first emergency responders. They were there within minutes and had already called the helicopter. They helped load up the sleds and rode Mike and the kids down to the ski lift to take them back to the van.
The man who rode up with me. I was transported to Interlaken hospital. They were very nice and for the most part those that needed to care for me spoke English.
The kids meeting up with me in the ER. Dallin just stayed in the corner for the most part. He was very concerned about my memory. The first thing he asked me was "Mom, what's 2+2?" Luckily I still recalled my 1st grade math and passed his test. He smiled and was quite relieved. He hung back out in the corner. I was later put in a room for the night with 6 other white haired ladies. It was a lonely feeling being in a hospital where I couldn't even pick up the phone and call a friend or family, I couldn't talk like each of them were doing to each other and worst of all...they wouldn't let me eat!!! We never know why things like this happen but I do know for sure that I was watched over and protected from much more serious injuries. I am being well taken care of by a Man that loves me truly. I couldn't ask for a better partner to see me through the good and the bad. We have a good thing going that's for sure! Here are some videos for a certain someone who emailed saying " yeah yeah yeah you're home, you're safe now show us some pictures and video." This is for you! ( He was joking by the way)

OH MY GOSH! That is crazy!!! That hill you went down is insane. I am soooo glad you are ok!
Only Traci would do something like this!! "You are not alone.." (michael jackson). I am so glad you are ok and can still add 2+2!!!
Love you
Glad to hear you are doing well and no serious damage. This is a big adventure, but one of those kinds is enough.
Oh. My. Gosh! Traci! That is so crazy that happened to you. I am so happy you are ok and that something more serious didn't happen. You are so very blessed! I can't get over that hill you fell down. You are here for a reason girl!

Oh Traci, I'm so glad to hear that you are okay. How scary! And I'm glad you added in the bit about Dallin's little test. It was good comic relief.

Nothing like a little Swiss adventure for the memory books. We are so glad that you are okay. I'm proud of the documentation, you're a trooper. I hope you aren't in too much pain, I don't envy your headache. Hope to see you soon, but if I were you, I'd milk it. Mike may need to take a few more days off, just to be sure! =)

LOVE that someone was levelheaded enough to take pictures of the whole thing.
So glad that you knew you're 1st grade math (I was wondering if you were able to do that before the bump on the head).
The same thing happened to me! Except I was only 11 and I didn't traumatize my children. And I was out cold for a few hours.
Glad you're ok!!
